December 13-17, 2006

Our layout took 2 years to complete. Most of the buildings are from when I received them in 1961 as a child. The trains on the layout are all new.

This is one of the Traveling Boxcar passing over the lake through the trestle bridge.

The freight is a Boston&Albany 4-6-4 Hudson pulling a 15 car consist of reefers,
box cars and coil and oil. Trainmaster command equipped with all the whistles and bells.
She is my favorite train on the layout.

There are two main tracks, the outer track for the freight and the inner loop for the passenger train which is 4-8-2 L-3 Mohawk Mountain Steam Engine carrying the city of Plasticville to and from town. On the side spur is waiting an 0-8-0 switcher pulling building supplies for the towns new house being built out by the farm outside of the tracks.

There's children playing in the school playground (animated) and a gang work crew on the spur finishing off some last minute welding and anchoring. City park has the children enjoying a day in the sun  while the ice cream truck sits and sells cold treats to the city children.

I hope this is worthy of the traveling boxcars trip.
I've added a napkin from the Northern Lines in the bottom box.
