THE HAWAIIAN RULES

These "Hawaiian Rules" were taken from the back of a T-shirt that I got while filming underwater background plates on the "Big Island" for the motion picture DOWN PERISCOPE in 1995. I went there with Kevin Walberg and Wayne Baker. Only a few days long, the trip was quite a bit of fun. We had a private boat, two great dives and a couple of drinks.

Actually, I bought two T-shirts. The other one contained the "No Crybabies" saying that I think is terrific.

Here are "The Hawaiian Rules" according to some T-shirt manufacturer.

  1. No Rain - No Rainbows.
  2. Never judge a day by the weather.
  3. The best things in life aren't things.
  4. Tell the truth - there's less to remember.
  5. Speak softly and wear a loud shirt.
  6. Goals are deceptive - The unaimed arrow never misses.
  7. He who dies with the most toys - still dies.
  8. Age is relative - when you're over the hill, you pick up speed.
  9. There are two ways to be rich - make more or desire less.
  10. Beauty is internal - looks mean nothing.
